I had my doubts about Palin. I have been nervous and uneasy. Researching for the last 4 days. Now I have concluded that I have to abstain from voting on Nov. 4th.
I am Catholic. I can NOT vote for a candidate that doesn’t even think babies born alive should live. (Obama voted against the “Born-Alive Act)
As an American citizen who loves the First Amendment I can NOT support a ticket that is openly censoring free speech and is as conniving as Ms. Kilkenny describes.
I read that the list was relatively short but did include all Shakespeare as well as the usual Harry Potter stuff. I can’t remember any other titles but there were few surprises.
Freedom has to include freedom to read and if necessary to make your own choices. These right-wingers seem in spirit to be deeply unAmerican in their wish to control all opposing views. I keep thinking that a lot of people want to fill the gap left by the Soviet Union. I believe such thinking leads to an authoritarian state, be it Communist or Fascist. As Americans, respecting our great constitution, I feel we have to resist Palin by all peaceful means.

Out of curiosity, what books was Palin trying to get banned?
